Crocodiles are mostly nocturnal. However, it does not mean that they are not active during the day. As predators, they will hunt when they are hungry, and it does not really matter if it is night or day. In addition to mostly being nocturnal, crocodiles have excellent vision at night. As such, they have an advantage when hunting in the dark.
